I am a project engineer in a pharmaceutical plant in NC and we use a large amount of glass pipe and fittings. We have noticed that many of the suppliers of this pipe are discontinuing production. It is getting harder and harder to find fittings, especially ball couplings but other components are in short supply also. I was curious if anyone else had faced this problem and:
1. Are there alternate suppliers overseas
2. Are there alternate materials such as non-metallics, especially something that is transparent such as glass that could take 150°C and solvents??

Thanks for any assistance

Thanks G1Design;

We use beaded glass pipe for our process reactors and crytalizers in 2" and 3" diameters primarily. We need a supplier for elbows, tees, ball couplings and other similar fittings.
We also have a number of glass condensers.
If you could provide the information it would be appreciated.

Thanks;

quick,

Thanks for the reply I do not have just one single application but we use glass through out our plant 43 acres under roof. We are looking for a supplier who can supply beaded glass fittings (elbows, tees, etc) ball couplings and the like. If you have a catalogue that would be helpful send me an email and I will send you a mailing address or tell me where I can download one. Thanks.

ElderX:
In my company we also work with a lot of glass and hopefully up to now we didn't have that problem. We work with Schott glass that afterwards was bought by QVF, but they still maintain the old line of Schott glass. And we have here glass condensers, pipings and ballons that are more than 14 years old.
Did you tried to contact these guys?

Yes Paul, I believethat is where we get our glass from .
