I am looking for a source for a motor with the following specs:

1/4 HP @ 1750
1/12 HP @ 1140
1/32 HP @ 870
56CZ Frame
TEFC
115 VAC Single phase
50 deg
Z is dual output shaft

Would like to meet IEEE 45 "Below Deck" but USCG CG-259 "Below Deck"
If all else fails "Suitable for Marine Environment" will due.

Another issue is that I only need 2 motors.

The application is a replacement motor for refrigeration unit condenser fan.

Best regards and thanks in advance, David

Thats an almost unique set of specifications. I would try contacting the makers of the condenser unit and trying to obtain replacements via the spares dept as it could well be that the motors were made just for the application. Alternatively these manufacturers are good with fan motors and non standard designs, you could contact them and see they could offer you.

I am trying to supply this motor to the manufacturer of the condenser unit.
They bought the original maker and the motor that GE made for it is no longer available.
I have already contacted Leeson, Baldor, Reuland, Franklin, and a few others.
I'll try AO Smith, but I think I need a small "Mom and Pop" operation.

If this was on land I would get a 3 phase motor and a VFD with a single phase input.
If you have controls to run 3 speeds the VFD could be adapted.
Three phase motors could be qualified to work most everywhere I'm not sure of all drives.
It may sound more complicated but your getting rid of something that uses 2 irreplaceable motors and some kind of mechanical starter with some electronics.
Someone here should know if there is a drive that you can put in a IEEE45 environment.

Actually most of these larger ships do run 3 phase, I regularly build machinery with 2 speed 460 VAC 15 HP, Design "D" motors.
They use traditional motor contactors since they are manually controlled on deck.
I have contacted a motor drive company to do something along the lines you mentioned as a fall back option.
By far the best case is to find motors that bolt in to place and connect to the existing controls.
There is a saying: Wish in one hand, Spit in the other and see which one fills up faster.

Dave, does the motor actually run at three speeds? I have an A/C Condensing unit that uses a 2 56 frame motors, 1/3 horsepower each. To get away from the necessity of using different speeds on the motors I use a pressure switch that turns the motors on and off based on the compressor discharge pressure. Is this feasible in your application?

ssreese1500,
Yes the motor needs to run at three speeds as it is a replacement part for USCG.
They go in the room heating/cooling units on some cuuters and they are manually controled. Your basic three speed box fan.
