Hi,

I use for my CAD tasks a simply spaceball (3DConnexion SpaceNavigator for Notebooks).
I do not always use it (most of the time I use my mouse for 3D geometry movements).
Today, by accident I start using the spaceball and I was surprised to see that the geometry was moving around a point (preselected maybe by chance as well).
Now, I can'r repeat that performance anymore......
Is it possible to adjust the setting of the spaceball in such way that the geometry would move around a point (similar with initially selecting a point with 3rd button of the mouse)?

Thanks!

It is called "Set Rotation Reference" You can find it in the "View Shortcut" menu

Ronald,

I can't find the "Set Rotation Reference".
Can you send me a snapshot of the location, please?

Expecting you have the drivers installed...
With NX active you start the settings panel for your 3Dmouse. There should be (in NX) a Ribbon tab available for this.

Unfortunately, my spacebsall is different than yours, an older model......I use it for my Catia projects, not for NX...........
It doesn't have the option I've been looking for........(It has only "Rotation On/Off")..............

Then you should ask this in a CATIA forum...

In your pictures Power point and Chrome is active application so you won't find this setting. Make sure NX - Modeling is active application see NutAce picture.

You should also have this option in a toolbar / tab in NX ( depending on the NX version)
This is NX10:

Cannot say anything about the "Right-click in the graphics Set rotation reference" in your NX version,
but in older versions of NX there was two "rotation references"; one which was set in the spaceball meny/toolbar and only applied to the spaceball.
The other , right click in graphics only applied to "mouse driven rotations".

( I do not have a spaceball attached where i am now)

Tomas

At the moment, I am more interested in the spaceball "Set rotation reference" option.
More helpfully.....
Thanks a lot for sharing.
