Hello.
I wonder there are any relationship between specific gravity and leakage.
According to API 610 11th, 6.3.9 provides guideline for pump casing design.
The clause suggest that radially split casing is required if relative density of liquid is less than 0.7.
Why radially split casing are required?
Is there any relationship between leakage and density?
Please let me know.
For your reference,
API 610 11th suggest that surface tension of water shall be reduced by wetting agent when the hydrostatic test is conducted,
if relative density is less than 0.7.
