Spin On hydraulic filters

Hey Guys,

I'm putting together a presentation for Spin-On hydraulic filters and I wanted to get your input on advantages and disadvantages of using apin-on filters. just throw in anything you got. thanks guys!

usually can find interchangable filters from multiple manufacturers. Cheap. Difficult to inspect for debris. Low cost filters are of dubious quality. Leakage highly susceptible to installation torque error. Can get filters cross threaded during install (this burned up one of our big tractors, luckily it was the dealers fault). customers will try to buy cheaper filters from someone besides machine manufacturer - may get wrong micron rating, if not installed hanging down they will drain oil when they are changed, have heard of them spinning off due to vibration but I never experienced it.
