I work in a pretty old industry, maritime winches. I need to specify a replacement for a hydraulic motor. I found one from Parker that seems like a perfect match in terms of displacement and specs. The extremely annoying problem I am running up against is the spline shaft. The old motor, a sauer sundstrand, states it's an 8/16, 30 degree pressure angle 13 tooth spline. The exact same descriptors for the shaft. EXCEPT: The Sauer Sunstrand says its an ANSI 92.1 spline and the Parker says it's SAE J498b. I cannot find anything about the compatibility of these systems. Would they use the exact same nomenclature and not fit? If anyone even has research tips other than Googling SAE J498b, even that would help.
