Split rod wipers - is there such a beast?

I am tasked with correcting a hydraulic cylinder scoring problem. My current proposal is to use rod wipers to prevent material from getting trapped between the rod and close fitting sleeve, 1/32" radial clearance. My problem is the sleeve and supporting structure is split to permit removal prior to removing the hydraulic cylinder. Therefore the wipers would have to remain on the rod or they will have to be split. I have never seen a split wiper nor am I able to find a vendor or manufacturer who makes such a beast. Any suggestions? I'm open to alternatives.

As long as there is no gap for debis to pass through, there is no problem with a split wiper.

I have seen many split wipers, particularly where the clevis on the end of the rod is difficult to remove or where the wipers tend to wear out frequently.

The other options are...1) Harder Chrome on the rod. 2) Air purge 3) Gators or Bellows to protect he rod.
