Hello,

Could anyone help me? How should i use spring element in COSMOS M program?

The situation is that i need to do buckling analyse and i have a colums, which's top is fixed.
Stifness is 10500 kN/m.

Thank you!

The documentation is pretty clear. Most of the important stuff is set in an RCONST.

Be aware that you can have one node and two/three node springs. One node springs are good for keeping bodies from flying into space as they are basically grounded springs.

As far as you columns go, send a picture. It isn't clear what you are trying to accomplish and what part springs need to play in what you are doing.

The situations is, that i have to find out, how much does other column helps (lenght is L1 in the picture) for others columns buckling (lenght is L).
There is a situation shouwn in a picture 2, where are two columns connected with a horizontal element in the top. It would be the same, if i connected column's (lenght L) top with a spring (spring stiffnes is 10500 kN/m) that columns could only move and there will not be rotation, like it is shouwn in picture 2.

Thank you!

I tried to use one, two or threee node elements. But all results were wrong..
Interesting, because if i calculate a column, which top is not fixed, results are the same in CosmosM and MidasCivil but if the top is fixed, results are wrong.

Maybe i deleted it, because i can't find it.
I tried to do the same with MidasCivil program, but results were also wrong. So i found out that buckling is correct if there is only one element without spring or other construction.
