Hi everyone. Is there a simple formula that calculate the load that a spring can sustain at different extension or compression? Is there a good web site that give specifications for springs and K factors?
Thank you for your help.

There are 3 different K-Factors (Göhner, Wahl and Bergsträsser) given with the function-formulas. On dynamically claimed springs (like those for pistol slides) do not forget to add about 20N/mm^2 for every 1 m/s of velocity to the maximum tension inside the wire. The correction for velocity considers the shock-wave effects of accelaration forces which may cause the spring-windings going to block (by reflected waves) although the space for the spring has the correct gauge!
