Hi,

I have setup a model of a roof truss with Staadpro. The model was code checked with Chinese code and BS code. When I place the BS code check first (Parameter 1) for the members designed under BS code and Chinese Code check (Parameter 2) for built up member (I beam), the program reported all members passed. (Please ignore the tie rod bracings).

When I switched the parameters around, all the members failed. Not sure why. There may be a simple explanation but I am not seeing it. Please advice if anyone has any idea.

Below is the model in text.

Thanks.

Regards
Al

If you are checking the design using the postprocessing tables ( Beam > Unity Check page ) or checking the design ratios graphically on the model, then it may be worth noting that the postprocessor only displays the results of the final code check. So whatever code check is last will be displayed in the postprocessor tables and diagrams. So the results that you see will vary depending on which code check is located last.

The analysis output file ( File > View > STAAD Analysis Output ) on the other hand has the results for all design checks.

On a different note, if you are trying to do steel design as per Chinese design code, you should use the STAAD SSDD application. It can be downloaded from the same place from where you downloaded STAAD.Pro

Hi Sye123,

I went to Bentley download page but couldn't find any SSDD application. Can you direct me to the application? Thanks.

Be sure to remove the filter for "CONNECT Edition" when searching. This is a V8i product.
