HI. I have found, in our plant, plenty of Stab-in reboiler, where the temperature indication is just at the same elevation as the top of the reboiler box. I guess, if you want to have the indication in the liquid, you should install your indicator, well below the top. Do you know why is this installed in this way. Is it done to detect leakage of the reboiler box, because as son as your temperature indication starts fluctuating, means that your reboiler box is leaking?
