Hello,
I must put the tower crane base on the tunnel termination block (unreinforced secant piles). On one side of the termination block, there is a about 18 m deep excavation (see the pics), and the distance between the excavation face and the crane base boundary is 4 m. The induced bearing pressure due to the crane base is 130 kPa (base size is 7.2x7.2x1.7m). stability analysis is done by modelling the concrete shear strength parameter for 6 mpa concrete. I have assumed a minimum cohesion(300 kpa) with zero friction. I know it is possible to assume a higher cohesion value for 6mpa concrete. but conservatively, it is assumed as 300 kpa. The analysis shows a safety factor of 1.8. Have I done all the checks to decide that the base can sit the termination block in terms of stability issues? Your comments please. Thanks
