Hello Everyone,

I have a need to connect a 24-inch 316 Stainless steel pipeline to a 28-inch SDR17 HDPE pipeline. While the IDs are pretty close the ODs are not obviously. Is there a larger flange than can be welded to the stainless side so that the flange holes/bolts will line up, or should a reducer be used?

Thanks,

Shouldn't be too hard to get your local pipe or vessel shop to design a reducing flange for the stainless pipe to match up to the HDPE. Is the piping desiged to any particular code? If not, I'd go to ASME VIII-1 for design guidance.
