Hello Peers,
CSA Z662-2019 dies not clarify if stainless steel pipeline is allowed or not. I have reviewed the Scope and other clauses and I only found clause 5.3.5 regarding stainless steal material. Clause 4.3.5.4 says: "The design pressure for pipe made to a standard or specification other than CSA Z245.1, API 5L,
ASTM A984/A984M, ASTM A1005/A1005M, or ASTM A1024/A1024M shall not exceed the pressure corresponding to 72% of the specified minimum yield strength of the pipe."
Does anybody know if stainless steel pipeline built in Canada based on CSA Z662? Please note in few limited services, using stainless steel may be better option compare to CS pipeline.

Section 5.1 of Z662 has a bit more, it does not exclude it, but generally states you need to do your due diligence to use it. Yes on 72% max design.
