I am currently looking for suggestions for a Ball-valve, ball supplier.
We have current suppliers with poor quality ratings.
We currently procure .50 DIA and 1.00 DIA valve balls machined to various geometries.
(Leave ITC out of your suggestions)

Thanks

Gary

There are just so many manufacturers of ball valves it is just unbelievable, there are quite a few big names of organisations, but you may need the flexebility or customisation only offered by a smaller specialist manufacturer ( all are mentioned in the first search engine - The internet is a powerful tool and basic searches can reveal a lot, to much info is usually the case.

Try looking at this search engine which is for valves only or if looking for UK manufacturers only try
which is the British Valve and Actuator Manufacturers Association web site.
Good luck

You could also try the following two companies;

Alco Valves Ltd
Mission Works
Birds Royd
Brighouse
West Yorkshire
HD6 1LQ

Telephone : 44 (0) 1484 710511
Fax : 44 (0) 1484 713009

Colson Industries Ltd
Albert Mill
James Street
Elland
West Yorkshire
HX5 0HB

Telephone : 44 (0) 1422 377999
Fax : 44 (0) 1422 377333

Both of these companies produce good quality valves.

I appreciate all the feedback. I must clarify my submition.
I am looking for a manufacturer of the actual "ball" component of a ball valve. We manufacture aerospace valves and this ball is incorporated in our designs. I am looking for a new supplier to manufacture these flow balls for us.

Thanks again

Gary

falcon4, The ball va. manu'f. I know manu'f. their own balls. Undoubtedly, there is a reason why you don't. Have you checked the Thomas Register looking for machine shops that can do this type of work. You're going to find that most Valve Manu'f. will only be interested in their own production operations and requirements. Also, there is the issue of helping out a competitor.

Another thing to look at is, have you inadvertantly set your tolerances and specifications so high and tight that acheiving it is next to impossible? Just some food for thought.

Check for machine shops in the Thomas Register.

In my previous organisation which used to make ball valves too, we used to buy balls from Indian and Taiwanese manufacturers- both investment cast balls and balls from bars. Please let me know you email address and I shall trace their addresses and send you.

Depending on your location, you might want to contact a company in Aurora, Illinois named Ballco Manufacturing. I've had very good results using them as a valve ball supplier for many years.

Burdy gave you an excellent lead. Go to the valve-ez website and check number 44. They are a good supplier of ball valve balls.

We will investigate the capabilities of Ballco.
Due to the quantities and end use, a smaller well qualified regional supplier will be our choice.

Thanks for all the feed back.
