There are many, many standards for piping and many handbooks. You won't find everything you might want to know in one place. Suggest you start by contacting manufacturers in your part of the world. If you're in the US try ASTM, AWWA, CIPRA, and other alphabet soup organizations

You should read the response from John Breen in this thread:

BS stands for British Standards: it's not ONE standard as it covers all kind of stuff! The same for EN, which stands for European Standards. In this case it's more complicated as in Europe there is "Harmonization" of Standards.
ASME is form Mechanicals, and also you could find some piping standard here, as, again, it deals with everything....

Hi all
thanx 4 ur answers.
i think i need to explain my mean.
look.. for pressre vessels the megesy or moss handbook
r very usefull & all of the pressure vessel Eng. see them
i`m a beginner in piping & i like 2 know where i must begin!!
best regard

Hi MicroEng!

For what you need: You have the thick ASME, Section VIII, or the pedagogic, well structured german code, any up-to-date english version of the AD-Merkblätter, for pressure vessels. I would begin by this last one, and in somewhere, turn to ASME, Sc. VIII.

Good work

It depends what are you looking for:
for design use ANSI B31.x series piping codes, to do layout -ask senior piping designer or read "Plant piping design", to buy pipe according to the standard -use ASTM standards, to do piping hydraulic calc. - Crane had published very good manual, and so on. I am not sure if this answer will help.
