Standard mechanical tests for laminates

We have some samples of SRBP which has been in service and want to check how the properties compare with original (in particular, tensile strength and impact strength).

Does anyone know of standard properties for SRBP? Also, I've been informed that ASTM D3039 is applicable to tensile testing, and ASMT D3763 may be applicable for impact testing. Is this correct? If not, what testing should we look to perform?

Do you have the original strength values? were they generated by you or the vendor? what test method was used to generate the original values (if they came from the vendor and the datasheet does not list the test method, contact the vendor for the info)?

I would agree with you. ASTM 3039 is generally used for testing of polymer matrix composites. However, you may want to look into ASTM 256, IZOD impact test. It provides very useful data, in regards to energy absorption with a much less complex testing fixture.

Another impact test is the CHARPY impact test which, as of late, has grown in popularity for many companies.
