Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to add a delay in starting explorer.exe?

I find my self switching from PC to PC some times and i find it is easier to keep my home folders (my documents, desktop, and other items) on the network drive. the only trouble with this is that I need to restart explorer.exe before it loads all my items. therefore I would like to make a delay in explorer.exe on my main PC so that it will launch properly at start up (with out the need to restart explorer.exe). Any help would be appreciated, even if your help is to say that I'm a moron and it can't be done.. lol.

You can mount your network drive as a lettered drive. Say the network drive is \\gener\ous and you wish to share it as P: (it is better to use the later letters rather than the earlier ones. Say your user on \\gener is al and the password is p@ssw0rd. From a cmd prompt

Code:
net use p: \\gener\ous p@ssw0rd /user:gener\al /persistent:yes

Alternatively, mount using explorer tools menu.

Once you've done that, just go to the P: drive when you go from one machine to another.

thank you for the response. but, that's what I'm doing now. the problem is that it is not loading my settings..
