Could anyone recommend a good stick font for use with V5 for engraving please.

Have you tried any of the Cambam stick fonts?

I know we use these in Solidworks along with several of those who do engraving.

Hi,
I have downloaded the fonts and added them in windows and they seem to work ok.
I also added them to catia.
C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B21\win_b64\resources\fonts\PostScript
but they don't show.
Anyone know why ?

Put them in the wrong directory
Added them to the truetype directory and they show on the dropdown menu.
When typing they show in the text input box but not on the drawing ?

any help would be appreciated

Hi all,
Need some help please.
I have got these stick fonts into a sketch (as polylines) but can't get them to pocket in the part.

I have also tried projecting them onto another sketch to create geometry but this wont work either.
Using 'thicken' some of the letters/numbers pocket but most won't.

Can anyone tell me how I can get them to pocket because I'm totally stumped

any help would be really appreciated.

Hi LWolf,
I have attached a part file. (R27)
Sketch Two is the polylines copied from a .dxf
Sketch Three is the polylines projected to create geometry.
I just can't get either to pocket and can't work out why.

I succeeded generating a B...
after some work though. In your sketch (btw, you don't need any other support but xy-plane) right-click on the B-polyline and explode it...
use then Sketch Analysis to see the result, and you will see that there are doubles, and sometimes even 4s of the lines... sooo: if you make sure there is NO overlapping lines in your profile, it will be possible to make it into a pad

I have managed to do a couple by doing what you suggested.
Is there a an easy way to delete the overlapping lines or is it a case of 'one at a time' ?
I've always used standard fonts that don't seem to have any issues but the NC guys want a single line font to engrave.
I was hoping to be able to give them the sketch to engrave with and also pocket it to show on the model and drawings.
I'll keep trying

Hi all,
Been trying to find a way around this multiple line problem but not getting anywhere.
Does anyone have any idea how to locate and remove them without having to pick them one at a time ?
Or, is there a way to convert polylines to geometry ?

Any help would be appreciated

I have succeeded getting it done...
in GSD (shape design) make a projection of your sketch onto XY plane (type normal), no nearest solution, no smoothing. Keep all subelements.
in GSD, do a disassemble-INTO domains
in GSD, join curves forming a letter into one join
in a sketch, project this join.
I was able to generate A-H, in a rather quick way.
