STEAM TURBINE MODELLING BY USING CEASAR II 1

Greetings to everyone.
At present, I am evaluating Steam turbine piping loads as per NEMA S23.
The analysis is being done by using CEASAR II Software. I do not have past experience in dealing with steam turbines. I am seeking guidance from the subject experts regarding how to model the steam turbine in CEASAR II. I am attaching the Turbine drawing for reference.

It looks here like you're trying to do something quite hard using out of s=date requirments.
I don't understand your question though. The turbine is a piece of equipment with a flanged connection assumed to be an anchor. What is your point / issue?

It is important to understand that piping stress analysis and evaluation of nozzle loads on rotating equipment is a political game that has been played for at least the past 50 years....

I first became introduced to this game in the Nuclear Power Plant Design business in the early 1970s ...

The game is played this way:... The MBA/client purchases equipment built to no particular standard....The equipment mfr issues drawings with no allowable loads noted.... The AE hires a new engineer and insists on a nozzle analysis ... The Equipment mfr acts surprised about the topic !!! and says they will evaluate the developed loads on their equipment "for a fee" .... The client and the AE firm become enraged at the new engineer and he is fired ....

Then the game repeats itself ..... with another sacraficial newbie engineer

The AE firm somehow distribute bonuses to the principals..

Surendra, I am sorry but you are involved in a manufacturer's game that you cannot win ...

You must ask yourself, Why do your design drawings show allowable loads on the pump, but not on the turbine ??

Do the contract drawings state that the turbine and it's support will be designed to NEMA SM-23 ???

I was under the opinion that the steam turibne vendor would provide a stiffness matrix for each nozzle and , based on the scheduled cyclic load , an allowable force and moment reaction at the cold and hot condition. The cold load affects the ability to unbolt the casing for inspection.
