Steel Road Plates

Anybody knows of a publication or video helping me to size a steel road plate?

I would expect the local city government would have standards for that, as opposed to actually designing each one.

My thought identicals with JStephen. That said this could be a private road or facility.

I've designed plates and grating for permanent use where large trucks traverse and road trains traverse. Expect deflection to control in most case. I'd check that strength capacity should exceed at least 1.5x maximum permissible axle loads.

Use Roak's plate formula or similar.

BFstr. Have you tried you hand at sizing the plate yet? The calculation is really quite simple. And now LittleInch has given you a source of excellent guidance. There are also references in that document.

Use the span, use the load and calculate your thickness requirement.
