I am looking for some good books to provide some design guidance the subject. Any suggestions?

I found these listed by ASTM:
Modern Stone Cladding: Design and Installation of Exterior Dimension Stone Systems by Lewis (1995)
New Stone Technology, Design, and Construction for Exterior Wall Systems by Donaldson (1988)
Dimension Stone Cladding: Design, Construction, Evaluation, and Repair by Hoigard (2000)
Dimension Stone Use in Building Construction by Hoigard, Scheffler (2007)

Thanks!

Look for Masonry Design Manual by James E. Amrhein and James J. Kesler published in 1979 by the Masonry Industry Advancement Committee. There probably are newer editions.
See attached partial index.

Do you mean for anchoring to stone masonry, or actually anchoring stone masonry to things? If the former, I know companies like Hilti, Dewalt/Powers, and Simpson are sometimes willing to physically come to your location, do in-situ testing and get you loads to use. They chalk it up as marketing to sell their products. If the later, I don't know!

Good question, G! I am looking for information on anchoring stone masonry to a building structure such as a concrete wall, CMU wall or steel stud wall.

Thanks, PE. I found that book on Amazon. I also found another book by the same author "Masonry Veneer 2nd Edition".

Spiffy freebie: Link. Who's gonna know stone better than the druids?

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
