we have to store some electrical/electronic control cabinets for aorund 7 yrs,


can anyone help with recommendations for storage, conditions , silicon seal, that kind of detail

Pure metal? As dry as possible. Rubber seals? Minimum humidity to keep them supple without rusting any metal.

good idea on low humidity

Silica gel bags inside cabinet. Shrink-wrap the cabinets. Store them in a low humidity environment.

I hope there aren't a lot of electrolytic capacitors - they may need reforming or replacing after sitting that long.

There are some mil standards applicable to storage. I don't recall the numbers off-hand. The requirements can be extreme. I've got some old surplus synchros that were literally canned. I opened one to peek, and it was like new after about 50 years.

Beware of ESD if wrapping systems with non-ESD plastic. Exposed connector pins combined with massive static charge could cause damage.

such a range in temp, humidity, seems crazy,

If the VFD is going to be stored for more than a year, you will need to either power it up on occasion or plan on reforming the capacitors before putting it in service.

The range in temperature and humidity is not for a single site, but for any site, worldwide, which is typical of military specifications as well. The cold temp would be consistent with NK or Siberia, while the hot temps would be consistent with the Middle East.
