I have an existing system for a project that currently has stormwater flowing into these grit tank and well box combos with a dividing wall between the catch basin/stormwater outlet and the drainage well. It appears the catch basin side of the box the stormwater flows into the box and then must flow down and under the divider wall before being able to drain into the drainage well. The stormwater pipe outlet into the grit box and the well are at the same elevation. My question is for an existing grit tank/drainage well what should we expect to see upon inspection? Is there any standard or association to adhere to for the maintenance of the grit tank? I am assuming over time that grit and dirt will slowly fill up in the bottom is this an issue with this kind of design?

This is my first time experiencing one of these grit tank and drainage well boxes so any guidance is much appreciated.

Sounds like an oil/water separator as well. Are you looking for hydrocarbons as well? (no pun intended with the word "well")

Based on thereply from BUGGAR, is the project a parking lot?
