HI

i want to do structural simulation where i want to include strain hardening effect when apply cyclic loading. how can i do that?
any guide or tutorial .. or some steps ..

Hi,

You should consider:
[ul]
[li]A non-linear analysis.[/li]
[li]A material which allows to define isotropic and kinematic hardening properties.[/li]
[li]The cyclic loading is normally defined in a standard loading card, you just need to know how to reapeat a cycle.[/li]
[/ul]

You can't have lots of cycles (fatigue) on a complete model. One (cyles or model) has to be small.
But there are ways to couple "small cycle - big model" analysis with "big cycle - small model" analysis. Be aware that it's kind of technical if this is what you want :)

You should precise what sort of analysis you plan, and which software you have.

first i am using ANSYS.. second from my study till now .. i have to define platic properties of material (means the stress strain curve in plastic region) .. i want to confirm analytically we have romberg osgood type equations defining stress strain curve for elastic and plastic region .. can in use the points generated from that equation in material model in ANSYS to simulate plastic region .. hardening coefficient and exponent r available for many materials (for monotonic and cyclic stress strain curves) .. my confusion is how to check that material memory effect is being recorded .. as i will be doing fatigue analysis using damage accumulation on each step of load ..

Try to use in Ansys the material model called "Structural>>Nonlinear>>Elastic>>Multilinear Elastic" and enter with the cyclic stress-strain curve.

One tip: To do a Transient Nonlinear FEA to further do a Fatigue Analysis (using the e-N method) is extremelly time consuming :-/
