I been trying to figure out the strength of a channel shape unistrut bar bolted on a rolling load table, which will be subjected to a concentrated load applied through a ball screw. Would some one help me get through this?

Hi RNvd

Can you give more information ie describe your actual set up. I assume the channel is open side up and therefore the back is completed supported by the table.
So what size and thickness is the unistrut and length, also where abouts is the load applied.

Open side of unistrut bar is facing the motor driving the ball screw and a steel plate having a ball nut is bolted on the open side of bar,in the middle of 30" span. Bar is bolted to load table. As the screw rotates, it moves the ball nut, attached to bar in axial direction thus moving the load table. Bar is made of 14 gauge, Modulus of elasticity 29,000,000psi
