Dears,

I have recently posted similar requests on the following forums:

- Pipelines, Piping and Fluid Mechanics engineering: Link
- ASME (mechanical) Code Issues: Link

Since apparently CAESAR II doesn't support ASME NM codes, how can I use it to perform Pipe Stress Analysis on PVDF piping?

As far as I understood so far, I assume it would be like this:

1) Stress components on the piping system (longitudinal, radial, tangential) due to sustained loads can be calculated with equations from ASME B31.3 (e.g paragraph 319.4 and on)
2) Allowable Stress shall be taken from supplier documentation
3) CAESAR II will then apply either Tresca or V.Mises criterion and compare to allowable stress

Could you please correct me if anything of the above is wrong?

Errrr, IMHO, you can't use it as the program just isn't set up to do it and metals and polymeric materials act in quite different ways.

I would try to see if the vendor technical dept has a way of looking at stress models. You might need to pay them to do it like you do for GRE. The response from Engrpaper in your first link tells you that. You can ignore that of course, but I wouldn't without some sort of buy in from the vendors of this material.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
