Could someone tell me the proper temperature to stress relieve mild steel at after cold working or point me to a good reference? I tried to look in the Machinery's Handbook but couldn't find the information I was looking for.

jswiontek,

A couple of starting points for information. The first link lets you select the individual alloy that you are working with and will then give you some basic properties including annealing times/temps. The second will give you more potential links for information etc.

Look in machinery's handbook under annealing and normalizing.
