Strip and tin motor winding wire 1

Hi All,

Anyone know of a good way to strip the coating to tin the wire?

Tried solder pot up to 1000F to no avail.
Mfr used to offer a solution that would dissolve coating but was not EPA friendly.

Any ideas?

Scrape it off carefully with a knife? It's a pita but doable.

We tried that too but need to do 500 pcs. Sanding off was suggested but I wanted to see if there was a solvent to make the task easier.

A manufacturing plant I worked at used a molten salt bath to strip enamelled wire. Wasn't my patch of plant so didn't really get familiar with it.

There are lots of tools specifically for that.

There is something called "SIENNA MWS" which is a laser stripper. It leaves the wire absolutely positively cleaned to the molecular level.

There's no mention of wire size.
Five hundred pieces of [WHAT] wire size?

The reason I ask is because working with a (AWG) number 38 wire for example
would require solutions other than what's been suggested... so far.

24 AWG
We need to remove ~ 3/8” of coating off each end of a 2” long wire.

Here a likely unit but you'll have to do your math to compare mm to AWG
