Structural Damage from Lightning Strike to a Home

I am looking for resources regarding structural damage to a home from a lightning strike. The home is wood constructed, two stories, and in the south. I am seeing very little char. I am uncertain if all the observable damage is from a lightning strike.

It doesn't look like a lighting strike to me. 2nd picture looks more of water damage at the corner of the building where the flashing meets.
For the lightning install a lightning rod on the house and run a groudning wire. I am sure there are premanufactured packaged products on the market.
As for the water damage, I don't think there is much you can do. BEst practice is insulate on the outside, but doens't look like thats possible. So next best thing is keep the corner cold to prevent condensation(Hot air from inside travels to outside and condenses on the cooler outside surface). Replace the wood with presure treated material.
