Hi All

I've been watching a lot of AISC webinars/conference videos lately and was wondering what other free resources along similar lines might be out there to tick off some professional development time and learn or be introduced to some new concepts, or just as as general information refreshers on important subjects or concepts?

I've been a long time watcher of AISC's free education resources, accessible from [URL unfurl="true"]https://www.aisc.org/education/continuingeducation/education-archives/[/url]. Most are freely accessible depending on the source (some appear to require membership/registration, not a member or registered but there is plenty to keep me occupied in the meantime).

Discovered that IStuctE (Institution of Structural Engineers) also has something along similar lines a few days ago, with a lot of interesting free presentations online as well, accessible at [URL unfurl="true"]https://www.istructe.org/resources-centre/webinars[/url].


Anyone know any other professional organisations that make similar types of technical, research updates or case studies to AISC's content that is available for free. Feel free to link to any paid ones as well if you found them interesting or worthwhile as might help others.

Here is a link to 2 Youtube “Channels” on Geotech Engineering.

They are done by Professor Kitch at Cal Poly. I read or heard somewhere that he is going to be the new author on the Coduto Foundation Design book, which has been used for years.

Anyway, the lectures are very well put together in my opinion.

RISA has a YouTube channel (geared towards using their software of course).

Same thing with the SAP / ETABs guys (Computers & Structures, Inc).

And, RAM/ STAAD/ Bentley.

There's a professor at UOP, I believe with a StructureFree channel on YouTube. Not bad, but more geared towards mechanics of materials.

Good Thread. I have watched several of the Hilti Webinars, mentioned by Bridgebuster, some of them are very good. They also provide pdh certificates and are free to attend. One I particularly liked was on the development requirements for post-installed rebar, a topic that I feel was fairly ambiguous about 10 years ago.

Been watching the StructureFree channel for a while, its a good refresher on the basics, and pretty easy to follow along.

Similar to the links JoshPlum posted, here are some similar tutorials for Spacegass users (Spacegass)

Here's some recorded presentations from a local structural group, not all past presentations have videos, so just explore until you find a recorded one. Mostly local and overseas presenters talking about many different structural related subjects. ASG

Here's another YouTube channel called Gregory Michaelson which I've just found. The guys posting/posted some pretty good videos of full courses for undergrads. Literally hundreds of hours worth of stuff as far as I can tell.

If you're into bridges, NHI also has several free courses. They're mostly meant as introductory material to their more advanced paid coursed, but hey, free is free.
