Hi All,

Not really a technical question but when do you use your own company (structural) title block for structural drawings vs using the architect's title block? I have seen both but is there a rule for it?

Thank you

My experience has been to use the architect's when they ask you to and yours otherwise. If using the architect's, they should obviously provide your company information somewhere on the plan set (company name, contact info, logo, etc.)

I have my own CAD drawingsheet, with a space for the titleblock. The titleblock has attributes, Part of the titlesheet has space to use for a client's logo, and for projects that the client wants to use his own drawingsheet, I insert his logo and that becomes 'his' drawingsheet. I have these for several clients and I provide them to the clients for their use. His logo contains his company info, address, etc. I often prepare the logo, too. For drawing sheets, I have different sizes: C, D small, D large, E, etc., in three different sizes for font (5/64, 3/32, and 1/8.

The logo can be used as a 'stamp' to be added to Architect's drawings.

The drawing sheet is given to the client (I keep a copy) and is a 'no cost' item. Just part of the service.

It would end up on a drawing like:

Usually depends on who you are working for. Working for the architect? It's up to them. Working for the owner or a contractor? Usually on my own although for some jobs they want a single, unified titleblock for the project.

Correct pham... in most cases with my clients, it's a step up, and they don't have a standard drawing sheet. The logo can be pasted on the Arch sheets if required.
