Hello, I just want to ask what is the generally accepted safe percentage for the lock off load of struts? Currently we're doing (+/-) 20% of the design load.

I’m not sure if you got my last message in the other thread. PEinc is the forum’s best resource for temporary earth support. If he chimes in, I would listen to his advice.

20% seems low. If you don’t care about deflection then it may be fine. Maybe the jack size is of concern?

Ground annchors/tiebacks are usually 80-100% x design load where I work.

Sorry for the double posting, the other thread was deleted now. I forgot to clear up, (+/-) 20% of the design load would be 80-120% of the preloading load after lock off.

Thanks for the pdf.
