Hello, Everyone
I am new to this forum so I'm not sure how things are introduced but I have a problem and strolling the internet for answers isn't helping get to a solution in a timely manner.
So, Here the problem. I'm working on a research paper where I use the galerkin method to solve a fifth order pde. I have set up my basis functions and worked through validation by using such equations as. Ut+c*Ux=0 ( the 1d wave equation),
Ut-Uxx=0 (The heat equation) and so on but when I got to the fourth derivative. My solver seems to not solve it correctly. I believe the problem is that I ignored the boundary statements that come our of doing integration by parts for the 4th order term. I was wondering is there anyone out there that may be able to answer this question.
Thanks for reading all this and any help would be much appreciated.
