Hi everyone, I am new to this forum.
Our plant is planning to install submerged shunt in our naphtha tank to enhance the lightning protection.
However, some managers doubt the effectiveness of the submerged shunt compared to the conventional above-deck shunts which we are using.
They said the cost of installation is high and it is impossible to do the inspection or maintenance work for the submerged shunt.
We have to find out is there any oil company using submerged as lightning protection.
However, the information is very limited in the internet.
We would like to see if anybody can provide relevant information for our reference?
Thanks very much.
