It is wonderful that MathCad makes it possible to avoid use of mouse, but when using subscript or superscript in text, this is not possible (...or?) Is there a shortcut key for this option?

In text regions, highlight the text you want to superscript or subscript, right click, and select the option you want. Perhaps you know that to do this in a math region, such as a variable name, you can press the "." key and add a sub script. This is not the same as pressing the "[" key and creating assigning an index to that variable. This applies to version 2001 pro.

(??) Shortcut keys in text mode for subscript / superscript. The reason for the question, is that I use it A LOT....

There should be a shortcut key. You could right click then press b for subscript or u for superscript, but that requires taking your hands from the keyboard to the mouse. If you use the subscripts mainly for typing a variable names in the text, you could press Ctrl Shift A to insert a math region and type the variable name as you would in an equation, with the "." key, then up arrow to get back to the text. This is awkward also, but has the advantage of showing the variable name in the same font as it shows up in the equations.
