There is an automation conference in Orlando in January '04 called Distributech. You can go to their web site at for information. This is an excellent conference if you are getting into SCADA and/or Substation Automation.

Penwell, sponsor of distributech publishes a magazine called Utility Automation. You may also want to check out a book by John McDonald, titled "Electric Power Substations Engineering", by CRC Press. If you look on page 7-7 you will see a picture of our NOC dispatch center and on page 7-9 is one of our substation installations.

Mr. McDonald will conduct a day course on Substation Integration and Automation at Distributech, which I have attended in the past. This is a good introduction on the subject of Substation Automation. Hope this helps.

Thanks Kyruby,

I wish I could attend that course suggested by you - actually we are geographically so far away, that it would not be possible for me to attend that course. I will check out on the book. Thank you.
