We are trying to feed granulated sugar from a hopper into preheated water to make a sugar syrup. The system works fine, but the steam rises from the water and dampens the sugar in the hopper causing blockages. We control sugar dropping with a rotary valve which has an air ring below (compressed air blanket) but still steam rises - clogging the valve. Has anyone had a similar problem and found a way to keep the storage area dry?

Hi Orch,
We have a similar set-up in our factory which works fine. In the end it is all a matter of relative moisture. So the air should be enough and with a certain temperature.

Try a Tri - Blender. We use this to introduce poweders into liquids all the time.
