Hi all.

This question is unrelated to my work, but I believe this is the best place to ask.

My Thule cargo box (on top of my car) is cracked, and I'd like to repair it with a type of "super" duct tape.

I've seen Eternabond roofing repair tape online, but I wonder if anyone has other suggestions.

I'd like to stay away from an actual fibreglass repair, given my inexperience with this, and the cost.

Thanks.

If the box is actually fiberglass, then do a fiberglass repair.

It's stupid easy.

Sand, clean, mix resin, saturate cloth, slap on, done.

There are these butyl rubber adhesive tapes as the roof repair tape you have found. There are either plain, or Al foil, of fabric backed. Though the aesthetics might not be there I would go with the Al backed repair tape. If there is gap I would use it both on the inside and outside.
There isn't much structural strength in these tapes so if there is any appreciable flexing they may not work.
On of the best I've used was a gutter repair tape picked up at the big orange box. Another good tape is the one used in repairing motor homes.

As far as fiberglass repair checkout the repair/kits at any marine/boat store. Also a good auto body man, especially one that works on sports cars would be able to fix this in a few minutes.

Fix it from the inside?? - using any of the above Won't hardly see the crack!!
