Dear All,

I wonder if there is any experience on usage of A6061-T6 accessories (for the case under evaluation, a quick coupling) for use in a condensate/steam stream at 16barg 205ºC.

I have never encountered before this material in steam and condensate pipings.

Any experience?

Thanks,

I've never seen a tempered structural grade used in a pressure retaining application at elevated temperature, ever.

The metallurgists (I'm not one) will give you advice on how close the 205 C is to the tempering temperature for this grade. Certainly this grade loses strength greatly when you attempt to weld it- that's a certainty.
