Sulfur flow indication

Has anyone had good experience with flow measurement on a molten sulfur service? Currently there are 3 condensers that flow into a sulfur pit and we would like to add some indication to know that they are flowing. Any recommendations and advice would be very much appreciated!

Would a temperature sensor on the wall of the conduits not give a pretty good idea of whether hot molten sulfur is flowing?

Check that the molten sulphur line dips into the liquid sulphur in the pit even at low level, else you will get air backing up into the line where the meter may be. There is no way you'll get any meter to work in a 2phase ( air / molten sulphur ) line.

Siemens' clamp-on transit time ultrasonics have high temp transducers that will tolerate up to 230 Deg C. The transducers would not function if mounted on a jacketed pipe, they would have to be mounted on a section of unjacketed pipe, but can be insulated if need be.

Transit time technology likes liquids without bubbles or suspended solids. It doesn't care about pressure or materials of construction. It wants some upstream and downstream straight run (10 up, 5 down)

Installed accuracies are on the order of ±1%. Clamp-on becomes more and more cost efficient, the larger the pipe size, in comparison to in-line technologies.

I haven't seen it on sulfur, but used on 200°C oil.

Thanks all great suggestions and resources. The other discussion that was linked was also helpful. Since we are looking for just rough indication, are there any level measurement devices we could use to accomplish this in sulfur service? Would it be cheaper to use something like ultrasonic or vortex meter for flow, or to add level indication instead?
