Would anyone know how I can reduce sulphate levels of waste water from a food processing plant? The water is to be used in irrigation.

How do I remove sulphates from effluent?

faq164-544

You will need to give a more thorough description and analyses for the water, as suspended organic solids interfere with some treatment options. Cations, pH, etc.
What is the sulfate source? Any chance to modify, or if this is coming from a sulfite treatment, maybe isolate that wastewater stream.

Depends what you mean by sulphates - do you mean hydrogen sulphatee? We just designed a system to remove 22ppm H2S from thermal water for a hospital in Romania. Flow is 351gpm or 451k gallons per day. Constant flow - combine duse of ozone and ECP process (due to high ammonia and nitrate that also has to be removed/reduced). For more info on how it's done - let me know.
