super weird z peoblem

So our machine will run fine for 3 to 4 hours till its warm, then when it goes down to cut and the shutter opens it raises to z+ over travel, I swapped heads, pulled the lines and ran without them to see if they were messing with the sensor, and tried different programs and cut conditions. Any other ideas are welcomed or if you had this problem please feel free to share the fix. Thanks in advance

Most times in electronics I'd be looking for a broken wire. The jacket warms and expands and pulls the broken ends apart. Let it cool and the plastic shrinks and it makes enough contact. It could also be inside a connector.

when this happens to me its because slag builds up and connects the head to the airlines metal casing and then the head starts doing funny things and after 3-4 hours of cutting that slag might just be your problem
