Supplier for SA612 plate material for PQR

Good morning everyone,

I´m new to this board and registered to find some help here. We are a workshop for ISO Tank Container in Hamburg/Germany and are also certified ASME VIII Div.1 U- and R- Stamp holder. We are preparing an alteration on a gas tank, which is fabricated of 17 mm SA612M carbon steel (P-No. 10C). To perform our PQR, I´m searching for a supplier for SA612M steel plates in 10 mm thickness. Unfortunately no one in Germany is holding this kind of material on stock. Does anyone have an idea where I can purchase this material in 10 mm for our PQR?

As a U-stamp holder, you can recertify European material according to UG-10(a) (Identified Material With Complete Certification From the Material Manufacturer) to an ASME-permitted material.

There is an intersection between the mechanical technological properties and the chemical analysis of EN 10028-3 P460 and SA-612. Therefore there is the possibility to recertify P460 in SA-612.
Before purchasing the material, have the material test report of P460 sent to you. Check the material test report of P460 whether the chemical analysis and mechanical technological properties are consistent with these of SA-612 or order the material with restricted analysis. Depending on the toughness required, P460 NL1 or NL2 must be ordered.
Follow the requirements of UG-10(a) and if the comparison of both steels shows that all requirements of UG-10(a) are met, recertification can be carried out, at the end of which the former P460 is stamped with SA-612.
