I'm trying to find out a surcharge load condition (for slope stability analysis) for a haul road. The haul road will occupy Cat 740 articulating dump trucks. The heaviest axle weight is about 54500 lbs and a tire pressure of 50 psi according to Cat. At this time, I am considering a 500 psf surcharge loading, but would like to know if this is adequate. Thanks!

The 500psf seems reasonable, but I would check point loads as well. You have two point loads of 27,250 each...pick the worst spot and apply them.

don't forget the factor of safety, compact load too.
