Surface Roughness Guage 1

Does anyone know the best portable equipment to use for measuring surface roughness of sculptured surfaces? I need to measure the roughness of NURBS surfaces in mold cavities. The size of the cavity is about 2.5" x 2.5".

This would be best asked in the
Mechanical Engineering forum Or Metalworking machinery forum.

Even though it technically is an instrument, this forum is geared more towards COntrol manufacturing processes.

I believe if oyu google "surface roughness" you should find a tool for your use.

Basically your using a ball of sorts to run the gauge over the surface and this measures the "nurbs".
