n a crash contact such as this one, where the rigid barrier is the master and the 4 box faces are the slaves, what is the difference between choosing one side of each of the box faces or the other? I mean, does it matter if I choose the exterior side of the box surfaces or the interior side?

Yes, it does matter. If you take the wrong side then you will have the wrong orientation of the contact surface. The contact at the outer shell thickness would be at the wrong side.

But why don't you take general contact. Then you don't have to care and have several other advantages in Explicit.

I am using CZone 2016 add-on, which requires surface-to-surface contact. How do I know which side is the correct one in this case? Since the rigid barrier is perpendicular to all of the box faces I don't know which one should I choose

Don't you think that it is much more likely that the outside comes in contact with the rigid?
