Please tell what is the use of connecting 2 or more surge vessels in parallel to a pump discharge line ?

Need drawings and technical details.

sounds like it would improve the surge performance.

Thank you for the reply .we have Two surge vessels connected to the main discharge line of four pumps connected in parallel .The design pressure of the surge vessel is 9 bar whereas the discharge pressure of one pump is also around 9 bar .at a time 3 pumps will be operational.how will i know whether this 2 surge vessels is designed for these pumps properly

The surge vessel is non operational for more than 2 years

As surge vessel is only of use during a surge event.

It sounds a little odd to have design pressure and operating pressure so close , but what you may have is a requirement to pour fluid into the system on a trip or shutdown to prevent a vaccuum and flow reversal occuring.

You need to look closely or re-do the transient analysis. you can't tell anything from a steady state or a piping drawing.

"The surge vessel is non operational for more than 2 years" !!!

So it won't be doing it's job then.
