What is the OSHA definition of a suspended load? What attachments constitute a load being securely fastened from suspended?

Could you be a bit more specific? For example, what are you lifting and for what purpose? There are different codes of regulation for different industries e.g. 29CFR1910 for General Industry and 29CFR1926 for Construction. I browsed through both of these but couldn't find a definition for a suspended load.

A "load" that is hanging. Load is something being moved [think crane], not an engineered non-moving platform. Even if the platform is suspended by cables.

Engineered moving platforms = elevators. New set of rules.
