Was wondering if someone could help us out with an issue we have been having with SW 2009 since our recent upgrade from 2008.
Lately, when some of our users start up SW and go to File > Open or the Open toolbar button, the File Open dialog box pops up but then SW locks up or completely freezes. Nothing can be done after that and the SW application needs to be closed out or the "End Task" needs to be done via task manager. This is a very inconsistent problem and can not be repeated on demand. Most of the time it happens out of the blue on one or two computers, but others are fine (we have about 15 users). A reboot of the computer usually fixes it but sometimes it doesn't. Plus it doesn't seem to matter whether the user is working off our network or on his own hard drive.
I have verified all my procedures when I did our admin image creation and client installs. I always turn off our anti-virus software, do a clean installation, and verify we are using a certified driver for our video card. These are the same procedures I have been using for the last 4 years of doing this and have never had a problem like this.
Anybody have any thoughts on this?
